All Hearts - Aurora by LynxGriffin All Hearts - Aurora by LynxGriffin
126 of 262 characters for my redoing of All Hearts. Now starting in on the characters from Enchanted Dominion, here we have Aurora, one of the seven princesses of heart! Although I gotta say, out of the princesses I find Aurora the least interesting...she's asleep for most all of the games, including BBS, and when she is up and doing things she still doesn't have quite the snark or sweetness of Cinderella or even Snow White.

Oh well, I suppose all of that is not her fault, anyway.

Funny enough, I STILL prefer Aurora over Snow White. Maybe it has to that even for a little bit, Aurora was voiced by Jennifer Hale who also voiced Cinderella, that and Snow White's character and voice annoys me, but more so the voice X_X

Yeah, the main problem with Snow White is that her voice got reeeeally unappealing.

It was best described as very Betty Boopish, and she's supposed to be 15 O_o. Since when the heck do 15 year olds sound like that? Then again, in the original Sleeping Beauty, Aurora who's supposed to be 16 was voiced by a 19 year old, but it can be forgiven at least for a bland character she was more tolerable in that perspective if you ask me.

Plus honestly for me, since you don;t see much of Aurora's character at all, it actually decreases the amount of bland cutesy innocence junk that we unfortunately got with Snow White, which is why I like Aurora more, makes it easier for me to handle the cutesiness =p lol. Then again, when the title is "Sleeping Beauty", does that leave room for character when trying to keep accurate to the story?

I think it does. Faerie Tale Theatre did a wonderful adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, if a bit of an affectionate parody. You're right about the problems with Aurora's character. We don't see enough of her, and don't get to know her too well. The animators had so much fun with the fairies and Maleficent that the actual main characters are neglected. They aren't bad, just a bit of a blank.

And character is difficult when it comes to the general story of Sleeping Beauty. After all, most of the action is taken by the prince and others. But, like in the FTT show, I think the important part is establishing what kind of person Aurora was before she went under. In the show, Aurora stayed with her parents, who never told her about the curse, probably because doing so would make her a paranoid, insomniac wreck.

As for Snow White, I think she was 14. And I tend to forgive them for things like that since it was the 1930s, and the movie pushed them so hard.

And Lynx, as for the picture, it's really good. But is it just me or does her face seem wider than it should be? I'm not sure. My knowledge of KH is second hand, so maybe she looks a bit different in game. It's still a wonderful image, but that just sort of bugged me a little bit.
